flyadeal Receives 6th Brand New A320 Aircraft in six months
Airline remains on Track to Receive 2 More New Aircraft by Mid-Year
29 March 2018
Jeddah, KINGDOM OF SAUDI ARABIA – flyadeal, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Everyday Low Fares Airline, today welcomed its sixth aircraft. The brand new Airbus A320 arrived from the Airbus assembly facility in Hamburg, Germany.
Every single one of flyadeal’s aircraft has a unique name, and the sixth is no different. Its name, “Al-Qaws” (the bow of Sagitarius), was one of the names chosen through a social media poll last year.
The airline has rapidly expanded its route network since beginning operations on September 23rd last year -- the Kingdom’s national day. In just over six months, it has brought affordable air travel to some of the most popular destinations in the Kingdom.
Currently, flyadeal offers as many as eight flights daily between Jeddah and Riyadh. It also flies twice daily from Riyadh and Jeddah to Abha and Jazan. From its base in Jeddah, the airline also flies direct to Qassim and Damman.
Con Korfiatis, CEO of flyadeal said: “As promised, we continue to expand our fleet to meet the growing demand for low cost travel in Saudi Arabia and deepen our domestic presence so Customers can Fly for Less. We can’t wait to announce our route plans for this aircraft in the next few weeks.”
flyadeal's current route network comprises six domestic destinations in Saudi Arabia. The airline expects to receive the two remaining aircraft in the initial leasing of eight aircraft in the next few months. The growth of flyadeal in the domestic travel sector has contributed to the rise in point-to-point traffic across key cities within the Kingdom. The connectivity enabled by flyadeal is in alignment with the Saudi 2030 Vision to boost tourism as a key pillar of the country’s development.
